I first illustrated the Dark Wave piece in 2010 as a response to the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico. I made some fine art pieces of the image that I liked even more than the screen prints and decided I’d like to release an offset of the fine art version. I am releasing this both because I like the image, and because unfortunately, the environmental hazards of off-shore drilling are just as relevant today as they were in 2010…especially with the relaxed regulations under the new administration. I enjoy doing illustrations of water with its hypnotic ripples and reflections. There’s oil in this water, which mixes ok in an illustration, but not so well in real life. I want future generations to inhabit a livable planet. – Shepard

Domestic orders ship via USPS or UPS Ground, and typically arrive within 1–4 days.
International orders are shipped via FedEx and usually arrive in 4–6 days.
Expedited shipping is available at checkout.

Care Instructions
To ensure your print arrives safely and remains in perfect condition, please follow these unpacking instructions:
1. Remove the tape carefully
– Locate the tab at one end of the tape and gently peel it away from the kraft paper.
– Avoid tearing the paper or damaging the print.
– Do not use utility knives or sharp tools.
– Do not attempt to remove the print before the tape is fully removed.
2. Unroll the print
– Lay it onto a clean, flat surface.
– Place a heavy object on each corner as you unroll to help flatten curled edges.
– This will prepare the print for storage or framing.

We recommend storing your print flat, using acid-free archival paper or plastic. For long-term care and display, consult a professional framer for the best preservation solutions.
